Usage and features

USB-rechargeable battery

The front light includes a built-in rechargeable battery that charges with a USB cable from any USB port (computer, smartphone charger, power bank). This eliminates the need for constantly buying disposable batteries and is a more environmentally friendly option.

Charge the battery fully before longer journeys to ensure sufficient light for the entire duration. The charge level is usually indicated by the light's LED indicator.

Quick-release mount — remove easily

The light is attached to the bicycle's handlebars with a quick-release mount. You can quickly detach the light when leaving your bike, for example, in the city or a bike storage room. This reduces the risk of theft and allows the light to be charged indoors.

Premo — Airam's renewed bicycle light collection

Airam's bicycle light collection has been completely renewed. The collection includes several new LED front lights and rear lights, some of which are USB-rechargeable. All models are removable with a quick-release mount.

Tips for safe cycling

  • Check the lights before every ride
  • Keep the front light charged — the light dims as the battery drains
  • Also use a red rear light — both are legally required when riding in the dark
  • Use reflective elements attached to your jacket or backpack for added safety

Usein kysytyt kysymykset

How long does the battery last on a single charge?

Battery life depends on the light setting used:

  • Full power: typically 2–4 hours of continuous use
  • Flashing mode (if available): significantly longer, as less power is consumed

In winter, in cold conditions, the battery may drain faster. Always fully charge the light before longer trips, and carry a power bank or charger if you are traveling for several days. The charge level is usually indicated by an LED indicator on the light.

Which USB ports can the light be charged from?

The light charges from any standard USB port:

  • Computer USB port
  • Smartphone USB charger (wall or car outlet)
  • Power bank (convenient for travel)
  • Car USB port

A USB cable is typically included in the package. Check the package contents before purchasing if you are unsure — in some packages, the cable is not included and must be purchased separately.

Is a front light legally required when cycling?

In Finland, when cycling in the dark or at dusk, your bicycle must have functional lights:

In addition, the bicycle must have a red reflector at the rear and yellow or white reflectors on the sides. Precise regulations can be found in the Road Traffic Act. The lights must be in working order and suitable for the visibility conditions — therefore, it is advisable to regularly check the battery level of a USB-rechargeable light.

Can I leave the light on the bike in outdoor storage?

We recommend detaching the light using the quick-release mount when the bike is left outdoors:

  • Theft risk: detachable lights are a common target — take it home or to work with you
  • Weather protection: although the light is designed to withstand rain, continuous exposure to the elements shortens its lifespan
  • Battery condition: cold shortens battery life — keep the light indoors when possible

The quick-release mount allows the light to be removed in a few seconds, making it easy for daily use.
