End caps neatly close the ends of the profile

End caps are an almost essential finishing touch in every profile installation — they cover the open ends of the profile and provide a professional appearance. This is the basic model without holes, suitable for applications where the LED strip wiring comes from the back or side of the profile.

If the wiring comes from the end of the profile, choose end caps with a hole.

Which profile does this accessory fit?

This accessory is specifically designed for the LS AY-PW02/UW/39X26/14 profile (Ledvance wide U-aluminium profile for 14mm LED strips). The dimensions are tailored exactly to this profile.

The profile itself is available in 1m and 2m lengths — check it out here. Other profile models (narrower or differently shaped) have their own dedicated accessories.

Why is the accessory a made-to-order product and why is the delivery time 3–4 weeks?

Ledvance's LED strip profile family and its accessories are specialized products that are not continuously stocked in Finland. We order them directly from Ledvance's manufacturing or distribution center, which typically takes 3–4 weeks.

If you have time pressure with the installation, it is advisable to order all necessary parts (profile, end caps, brackets, cover, LED strip, driver) at the same time so that the delivery time does not delay the project.

What other supplies should I order at the same time?

A typical complete aluminium profile installation includes:

  • Aluminium profile (main part, 1 m or 2 m)
  • End caps 2 pcs (basic model or with a hole)
  • Mounting clips 2 pcs (at least, more for longer profiles)
  • Diffuser (clear or frosted)
  • LED strip and a compatible LED driver

Ordering everything at the same time minimizes delivery time and project delays.

Are end caps always needed with aluminum profiles?

End caps are not mandatory, but they are highly recommended. Without end caps, the ends of the profile remain open, which:

  • Allows dust and moisture inside the profile
  • Looks unfinished — individual LEDs may be visible from the end
  • Allows the cover to slip out of place

End caps are a small investment that gives the installation a professional look and protects the LED strip. We recommend ordering them always with the profile.
