The Thorgeon Outdoor Wall Light is a round outdoor wall light fixture for a GU10 bulb. Its anthracite gray casing and IP65 protection withstand weather and moisture, making the luminaire suitable for illuminating facades, entrances, and terraces. The fixture is empty – choose your desired GU10 bulb separately based on luminous flux and color temperature.

GU10 bulb must be purchased separately. For outdoor use (IP65). 230 V mains voltage. Maximum allowed bulb power 35 W.

Compatibility and installation

Bulb selected separately

This product is a light fixture without a bulb. A GU10 LED bulb fits into the fixture, and you can choose it according to your desired luminous flux and color temperature. Maximum allowed bulb power 35 W

Use a bulb with a maximum of 35 watts in the fixture. For LED bulbs, this is not a practical limitation — a 35 W LED bulb would produce a very high luminous flux, and a typical GU10 LED bulb is 3–7 W. Do not exceed the 35 W limit.

IP65 — for outdoor use

IP65 protection means a dust-tight and jet-water resistant construction. The fixture is suitable for exterior walls: facades, entrances, terraces, and carports. The anthracite gray casing blends well with modern exterior architecture.

Installation

The fixture is attached to the exterior wall and connected to a 230 V mains voltage. Electrical connections may only be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with current regulations.

Installation checklist

  1. Obtain a suitable GU10 LED bulb separately
  2. Turn off the power at the main switch before installation
  3. Mount the light fixture on the exterior wall
  4. Have an electrician connect the fixture to a 230 V mains voltage
  5. Install the GU10 bulb

What bulb fits the Thorgeon light fitting?

The fixture accommodates a GU10 base bulb. The bulb is not included in the delivery and must be selected and purchased separately.

We recommend a GU10 LED bulb because it is energy-efficient and long-lasting. You can choose the bulb based on luminous flux (lumens) and color temperature — for example, 3000 K warm white is suitable for atmospheric outdoor lighting, and 4000 K neutral white for brighter general illumination. What is the maximum permissible burner power for the casing?

The maximum allowed bulb wattage is 35 W. Do not install a bulb with a higher wattage than this in the fixture.

In practice, this limit does not restrict the use of LED bulbs at all: a typical GU10 LED bulb has a power output of only 3–7 W and still produces plenty of light. 35 W is the upper limit according to old halogen technology. With an LED bulb, you will always safely remain below the limit.

Is the light fitting suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, the casing has an IP65 protection rating:

  • First digit 6: completely dust-tight
  • Second digit 5: withstands water jets from any direction

The casing is suitable for outdoor walls: facades, entrances, terraces, and carports. The anthracite gray casing is weather-resistant and blends in with modern outdoor architecture. Please note that the GU10 bulb used in the casing must also be suitable for the luminaire's operating environment.

What is the difference between single and double bulb models, as well as square and round models?

The Thorgeon Outdoor Wall Light luminaire bodies come in four versions, differing in the number of bulbs and shape:

  • Number of bulbs: models with a single GU10 bulb illuminate in one direction, models with two bulbs illuminate up and down (up/down light distribution)
  • Shape: the square and round models have similar features — the choice is a matter of appearance

The two-bulb models are taller (161 mm vs 100 mm) due to the up/down light distribution. Choose the shape and number of bulbs according to the facade's style and the desired lighting effect.
