Procell — Duracell's professional battery

Procell is a battery brand manufactured by Duracell, designed specifically for professional use — hospitals, property maintenance, security equipment, and similar applications where reliable power supply is critical. Procell batteries are of the same quality as well-known Duracell consumer batteries, but packaged in larger bulk packs to meet the needs of professional users.

Intense — for demanding applications

Procell Intense series batteries are optimized for devices that require higher current output — for example, wireless microphones, electronic locks, or motorized devices. The standard Procell basic series is suitable for devices with lower power consumption (remote controls, clocks, scales).

Storage and recycling

Store batteries in a dry and cool place. At the end of their life, take batteries to a recycling point — batteries must not be disposed of with general waste. Do not mix open batteries with used batteries in the same device.

What devices are suitable for AA batteries?

The Procell Intense AA battery is designed for a variety of devices that use AA-sized batteries:

Check your device's user manual for the required battery size before purchasing. Most devices have a label inside the battery compartment.

What is the difference between a Procell battery and a Duracell battery available in stores?

Procell and Duracell are products from the same manufacturer, and their performance is similar. The differences are mainly in marketing and packaging:

  • Duracell is a consumer brand, usually packaged in small packs of 2–4 for retail shelves.
  • Procell is a brand aimed at professionals, packaged in bulk (e.g., 10 units).

Procell is a more affordable option when a large number of batteries are needed – for example, for property maintenance, hospitals, schools, and businesses. For home use, Procell can be chosen just as well, as the unit price per package is economical.

What does Intense mean in the Procell series?

Procell has two series:

  • Procell Constant (basic series): suitable for low-power devices — remote controls, clocks, scales, toys
  • Procell Intense (this one): suitable for high-power devices — wireless microphones, motorized devices, photography use

Batteries in the Intense series produce a higher instantaneous current than those in the Constant series, making them a better choice for devices with momentary power surges or continuous higher consumption.

Can alkaline batteries be recharged?

No. Alkaline batteries are single-use — they cannot be safely recharged. Attempting to recharge an alkaline battery can cause:

  • The battery to leak and corrosive materials to spill out
  • The battery to explode or catch fire
  • Damage to the charger or device

If you need rechargeable batteries, use NiMH or LiFePO4 batteries specifically marked as rechargeable with a suitable charger. Always take alkaline batteries to a recycling point at the end of their life — they should not be thrown in general waste.
