The Thorgeon LED bulb is a reliable E27 base LED general-purpose bulb that replaces a traditional 60W incandescent bulb. With a power of 9W, the bulb produces 810 lm of light and has a wide beam angle of 140° — making it excellent for general lighting. The frosted cover softens the light and reduces glare. Available in two color temperatures (3000K warm or 4000K neutral).

E27 base. AC/DC support. Non-dimmable. Frosted cover — does not show individual LED points. The 3000K variant is an order product (1–2 weeks).

Compatibility and installation

E27 — standard base for general-purpose bulbs

E27 is the most common lamp base in Finland — the same as with a traditional Edison incandescent bulb. Suitable for chandeliers, pendant lights, table lamps, and almost all household general luminaires. Replacement is simple: unscrew the old bulb and screw in the new one.

140° beam angle — wide general light

A beam angle of 140° means that the light spreads over a wide area — this is a good feature for general lighting. In contrast, a traditional incandescent bulb would illuminate about 360° (in all directions), but in practice, 140° is sufficient for most needs without a noticeable difference.

Frosted cover — soft light

The frosted cover diffuses the light evenly — individual LEDs are not disturbingly visible. This is more pleasant to look at than a clear cover, especially in table lamps or pendant lights where the bulb is visible.

AC/DC support

The bulb works with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). This is a rarer feature and makes the bulb suitable for special applications — e.g., solar systems or battery-powered luminaires (with a suitable base).

Non-dimmable

Do not connect to a dimmer — this is a non-dimmable model. When connected to a dimmer, the bulb may flicker or be damaged.

  • 3000K (warm white): cozy and relaxing ambiance, suitable for living areas and bedrooms. This variant is an order product (1–2 weeks).

Does this Thorgeon LED bulb directly replace an old 60W incandescent bulb?

Yes. The Thorgeon LED bulb is designed as a direct replacement for a traditional 60W E27 incandescent bulb. The base is the same E27, and the light output (810 lm) matches an incandescent bulb.

You can install the LED directly in place of the old incandescent bulb without any modifications to the light fixture or wiring. Energy savings are approximately 85%, and the LED bulb's lifespan is many times that of an incandescent bulb.

What is the difference between the 3000K and 4000K variants?

Color temperature affects the light's shade:

  • 3000K — warm white: cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Similar to the shade of a traditional incandescent bulb. Suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, restaurants.
  • 4000K — neutral white: clearer and more work-supportive light. Suitable for kitchens, workstations, and general office spaces.

Note: The 3000K variant is a custom order (delivery time 1–2 weeks). The 4000K is often available sooner. Choose the color temperature during the ordering process via the variant.

Can the Thorgeon LED lamp be dimmed?

No. This is a non-dimmable LED bulb — do not connect it to a dimmer switch. If connected to a dimmer switch, a non-dimmable LED may flicker, fail to operate, or be damaged.

If you need a dimmable E27 LED bulb, look for a model specifically marked "DIM" in our product range. Alternatively, you could consider Hue or similar smart bulbs, where the light level is adjusted via an app without a separate dimmer switch.

Why is only the 3000K variant a special order item?

Different colour temperatures have different demand. 4000K is a more common choice for office and general use, so we keep larger quantities of it in stock. 3000K is particularly in demand for household use, but the quantity is more limited, so we order it directly from the importer as needed.

The delivery time for the 3000K variant is typically 1-2 weeks. If you have time constraints, it's advisable to check current availability with customer service or consider the 4000K variant, which is often immediately in stock.
