The Combo is a self-contained LED emergency light for marking emergency exit routes. The package includes two pictograms—one with an arrow pointing down and one with a reversible arrow pointing left or right—making the same luminaire suitable for all typical exit routes. The IP65 rating allows installation even in damp and dusty environments.

Compatibility and Installation

Two pictograms included

The luminaire comes with two pictograms, making it suitable for all typical exit directions:

  • Arrow down — for an exit route continuing below the luminaire (down a staircase)
  • Reversible arrow — left or right, directing the exit route to the side

The same luminaire covers most installation locations — there's no need to stock separate versions for different directions.

Self-contained operation

The luminaire contains its own built-in battery, which charges during normal mains operation. In the event of a power outage, the luminaire automatically switches to battery power and illuminates for the prescribed duration.

IP65 — for damp and dusty environments

IP65 protection means a dust-tight and water-jet-resistant construction. Suitable for industrial facilities, warehouses, parking garages, damp environments, and covered outdoor areas.

Installation

The luminaire is installed on a wall or ceiling and connected to a 230 V mains voltage supply. Electrical connection may only be performed by a qualified electrician. Detailed installation instructions can be found in the product's user manual.

Which pictograms are supplied with the Combo emergency light?

The package contains two guide pictograms suitable for marking different exit routes:

  • Arrow down: suitable for stairwells and doors where the exit route continues downwards
  • Reversible arrow left/right: suitable for corridors where the exit route runs sideways

The installer chooses the correct pictogram based on the installation location. This is a practical solution as there is no need to keep separate versions in stock for marking different directions.

What spaces are suitable for an IP65-rated emergency light?

IP65 means a dust-tight and splash-proof construction. The luminaire is suitable for demanding environments:

  • Industrial facilities and warehouses
  • Parking garages and carports
  • Wet rooms — bathrooms, shower rooms, swimming pools
  • Dusty areas — workshops, factories
  • Covered outdoor areas — entrances, terraces, carports

IP65 provides good protection for all typical installation sites, with the exception of locations where the luminaire is exposed to continuous water jets (IP66) or submersion.

Is the Combo a self-contained emergency light or does it require a central battery?

Combo is autonomous — it has its own built-in battery. The luminaire does not require a separate central battery system or special cabling.

In practice, the luminaire is connected to a standard 230 V mains power supply, and the battery charges continuously during normal use. In the event of a power outage, the luminaire automatically switches to battery power and illuminates the escape route for the time required by regulations.

Who is allowed to install emergency lights, and what regulations must be followed?

The safety light may only be installed by a qualified electrician. The installation is connected to 230 V mains voltage, and the electrician will ensure the correct fuse and residual current protection, and carry out the commissioning inspection.

In addition, emergency lighting must be installed in accordance with current exit route requirements and fire regulations. In larger premises (public buildings, workplaces), a fire inspector or electrical designer will ensure compliance with regulations.
