The Ledvance Downlight Universal is a versatile LED downlight with selectable color temperature and luminous flux (Multi Select). The adjustable mounting springs fit existing ceiling holes with a size range of 65–260 mm, making the product an excellent choice for renovations and replacing compact fluorescent lamp luminaires. The integrated driver makes installation easy.

Compatibility and installation
Multi Select — adjustable color temperature and luminous flux
The Downlight Universal features a Multi Select function, allowing you to choose with a switch before installation:
- Color temperature: 3000 K (warm white) or 4000 K (neutral white)
- Luminous flux: two levels — lower at approximately 1200–1260 lm or higher at approximately 2300–2420 lm
This allows the same luminaire to suit many spaces without requiring multiple different products in stock.
Adjustable mounting hole — suitable for renovations
The Multi Cut-out mounting springs fit ceiling holes ranging from 65–260 mm. This means the downlight fits most existing ceiling holes when replacing an old luminaire. The integrated driver eliminates the need for a separate transformer.
Replaces compact fluorescent lamp luminaires
The downlight is designed as a direct replacement for old compact fluorescent lamp luminaires. It is suitable for reception areas, lobbies, corridors, and common areas. Through-wiring is supported, allowing multiple luminaires to be connected in series.
Energy efficiency and light quality
Luminous efficacy is up to 145 lm/W, and color consistency of less than 4 SDCM means that different luminaires produce a consistent color tone. The lifespan is 50,000 hours (L80/B10).
Installation
A safety cable is included in the package. Electrical connections may only be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with current regulations.
Installation checklist
- Measure the existing ceiling hole — it must be 65–260 mm
- Select the color temperature and luminous flux with the switch before installation
- Turn off the power at the main switch
- Have an electrician connect the downlight and attach the safety cable
- Insert the downlight into the ceiling hole — the adjustable springs will hold it in place
- Turn on the power and check operation
