The Noon HF motion sensor model is a decorative LED ceiling light with a built-in HF motion sensor. The luminaire automatically turns on the light based on movement and turns it off when movement stops – ideal for stairwells, hallways, storage rooms, and WCs. The color temperature is adjustable to three settings (2700/3000/4000 K) and the power to two levels via a DIP switch.

230 V mains voltage. Protection class II. The HF motion sensor automatically turns on the light. Color temperature and power are adjusted with a DIP switch before installation.

Compatibility and installation

HF motion sensor — automatic illumination

The luminaire has a built-in HF motion sensor (microwave sensor) that detects movement even through doors and walls. The sensor automatically turns on the light when it detects movement and turns off the light a moment after movement ceases. This saves energy because the light is only on when needed.

Color temperature and power adjustment with DIP switch

The luminaire has a DIP switch to select both color temperature and power before installation:

  • Color temperature: 2700 K (warm), 3000 K (warm white) or 4000 K (neutral white)
  • Power: 10 W (1100 lm) or 18 W (1900 lm)

IP54 — for what spaces

IP54 protection means a dust-protected and splash-water protected design. Typical applications:

  • Stairwells and hallways — light turns on automatically for passersby
  • Storage rooms, basements, and garages
  • WCs — sensor turns on the light when the door is opened
  • Covered outdoor areas — terrace, balcony

Electrical connection — protection class II

The luminaire is double insulated (protection class II), so separate protective earthing is not required. Connection is made to the phase and neutral conductors. Electrical connections may only be made by a qualified electrician.

Sister model without motion sensor

The Noon ceiling light is also available in a basic model without a motion sensor (9975400), which is controlled by a standard switch. The basic model is more affordable and suitable for spaces where automatic illumination is not needed.

Installation checklist

  1. Select color temperature and power with the DIP switch
  2. Turn off the power at the main switch
  3. Attach the luminaire body to the ceiling
  4. Have an electrician connect the phase and neutral conductors
  5. Attach the luminaire cover
  6. Turn on the power and test the motion sensor's functionality
Power: 10-18W

Usein kysytyt kysymykset

How do HF motion sensors work, and how do they differ from PIR sensors?

An HF sensor (microwave sensor) sends a low-power microwave signal and detects movement by how the signal reflects back. This differs from the more common PIR sensor:

  • HF sensor: detects movement even through doors, walls, and furniture — accurate and reliable, suitable for stairwells and restrooms
  • PIR sensor: detects thermal radiation — requires a direct line of sight, may turn off the light when a moving person becomes stationary

The HF sensor is more accurate, especially in spaces where movement may be slow or partially obstructed.

What's the difference between this model and Noon's basic model?

The Noon ceiling light comes in two versions, which differ in their control method:

  • This HF motion sensor model (9975401): automatically switches on the light upon motion, and switches it off after a moment. Slightly higher price.
  • Basic model (9975400): controlled by a standard light switch. More affordable.

The motion sensor model is suitable for spaces where automatic switching is desired – stairwells, storage rooms, restrooms. The basic model is suitable for spaces where the light is controlled by a switch.

Does the light fixture need grounding?

No need. The Noon ceiling light has an enclosure rating of II, meaning it is double insulated. A double-insulated luminaire has reinforced insulation, which makes separate protective earthing unnecessary.

The luminaire is connected to the phase and neutral conductors. Electrical connections may only be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with current regulations. Turn off the power before installation.

How are color temperature and power adjusted?

The luminaire has a DIP switch for selecting both the color temperature and power before installation:

  • Color temperature: 2700 K (warm), 3000 K (warm white) or 4000 K (neutral white)
  • Power: 10 W (1100 lm) or 18 W (1900 lm)

The DIP switch is located in the luminaire body. Adjust the settings before mounting the luminaire to the ceiling—adjustment is not easy after installation.
