MR16 size with 44 mm diameter

This lamp is a compact MR16 version — slightly smaller (44 mm) than the standard MR16 (51 mm), but it retains MR16 compatibility with its GU5.3 base. In practice, this means the lamp fits both:

• Standard MR16 holders (51 mm housing)
• Slightly smaller housing openings (44 mm)

This increases flexibility — the same lamp works in more fixtures.

4.6W vs 6W — when to choose which?

This 4.6W model replaces a 40W halogen, while the more powerful 6W model replaces a 50W halogen. The choice depends on the situation:

• This 4.6W: suitable when the fixture was previously equipped with a 35–40W halogen, or when a slightly softer light is desired
• 6W: suitable when the fixture was previously equipped with a 50W halogen, or when a more powerful spotlight is needed

The advantage of the 4.6W model is a slightly lower price and energy consumption — in the long run, the savings accumulate, even if the difference per lamp is small.

Requires a 12V transformer

This is a 12V low-voltage lamp that requires a 12V transformer to operate. It works with both magnetic and electronic transformers, but compatibility with electronic transformers depends on the specific model of the transformer. The most common compatible brands are Helvar, Tridonic, Osram, Ledvance, and Vossloh-Schwabe.

Check the transformer power

The transformer's power rating must match the lamp (or the combined power of multiple lamps). For a single 4.6W lamp, the transformer should be at least about 6W (reserve a small margin). For multiple lamps:

• 5 lamps = 23W → transformer at least 30W
• 10 lamps = 46W → transformer at least 55W
• 20 lamps = 92W → transformer at least 110W

This lamp is not dimmable

Do not install the lamp in a fixture equipped with a dimmer. The lamp may flicker, stay on at full power, or be damaged.

Installation checklist

5. Check that the fixture does not have a dimmer
6. Turn off the power before installation — do not touch the lamp glass with your fingers
