Compatibility and installation
GU10 is direct 230V — no transformer needed
The GU10 base is a bayonet-style quick-lock that connects directly to mains voltage. If your existing light fixture uses GU10, replacing it is just one click away — no wiring changes, no transformer, no electrician required.
Do not confuse with MR16 (GU5.3)
GU10 and MR16 (GU5.3) look similar from the front but are completely different products. MR16 is a 12V pin base that requires a transformer and does not fit a GU10 socket. Check your old bulb:
- GU10: two round pins with knobs at the ends — twist-lock
- MR16/GU5.3: two straight, thin pins — pushed directly into the base

Dimming
This Retro model is non-dimmable. Do not use with a dimmer, as the bulb will flicker, buzz, or turn off completely. If you want a dimmable GU10 LED bulb, contact our customer service — we can supply a suitable DIM model.
Choosing a color temperature — a practical guide
- 2700K (very warm): yellowish light similar to an incandescent bulb. Living room, bedroom, restaurant, ambient lighting. Most popular in households.
- 3000K (warm): slightly more neutral but still warm. Hallways, accent lighting in the living room.
- 4000K (neutral): balanced, not warm, not cool. Kitchen, bathroom, office, workspaces.
- 6500K (daylight): bright, bluish. Shop, exhibition space, precision work — not usually for the home.
If you are replacing an incandescent or halogen bulb, choose 2700K — it best matches the old feel. In a modern kitchen or home office, 4000K is a common choice.
Installation checklist
- Turn off the light from the main switch and let the old bulb cool down.
- Turn the old bulb about a quarter-turn counter-clockwise and pull it out.
- Push the new bulb into the base and turn clockwise to the locked position.
- Turn the power on and ensure the bulb lights up evenly.
