The Sylvania RefLED ES50 is an affordable and reliable LED replacement for GU10 halogen lamps. With a power consumption of 4.2 W, the lamp produces 320 lm of light, which corresponds to a traditional 50 W halogen. Available in three color temperatures — choose the shade based on whether the light is intended for the home, office, or storage space. Standard dimensions (Ø 50 × 54 mm) fit most GU10 luminaires.

Compatibility and installation

Direct replacement for halogen

This LED lamp is designed to replace an old 50W GU10 halogen lamp. The base is the same GU10, and the dimensions fit standard halogen fixtures. Replacing it is simple — remove the old halogen and install the LED in its place without any changes to the wiring or the fixture.

Energy saving

The 4.2 W power replaces a 50 W halogen — the energy saving is approximately 92%. The 15,000-hour service life is approximately 7 times longer than that of a halogen (2,000 h), so the need for lamp replacements is also significantly reduced.

Wide 110° beam angle

The beam angle of a standard GU10 halogen lamp is usually 36–60° (for spotlighting). This LED lamp has a beam angle of 110°, which means a wider general light. Well-suited for general lighting but not for locations requiring precise spotlighting. For spotlighting, choose a separately sold 36° beam angle LED lamp (e.g., Sylvania RefLED Superia Retro 36°).

Non-dimmable

This is a non-dimmable LED lamp — do not connect it to a dimmer. If connected to a dimmer, the lamp may flicker or be damaged.

Does this LED bulb replace an old 50W GU10 halogen bulb?

Yes. This LED bulb is designed as a direct replacement for a 50W GU10 halogen bulb. The base is the same GU10, the dimensions (Ø 50 mm × 54 mm) comply with the halogen bulb standard, and the light output matches the former halogen.

You can install the LED directly into the same fixture as the old halogen without any modifications. Energy savings are typically over 80% compared to halogen, and the LED bulb's lifespan (15,000 hours) is many times longer than that of a halogen.

What color temperature options are available?

This lamp is available in the following colour temperatures: 3000K/4000K/6500K.

  • 3000K: warm white — cozy and relaxing, suitable for homes
  • 4000K: neutral white — clear and supportive for work, suitable for offices
  • 6500K: cool white — bright and energetic, suitable for warehouses and workspaces

Choose the colour temperature via the variant option during the order process. 3000K is recommended for most households.

Is this lamp dimmable?

No. This is a non-dimmable LED lamp—do not connect it to a dimmer.

When connected to a dimmer, a non-dimmable LED may flicker, fail to operate, or be damaged. If you require a dimmable GU10 lamp, look for a model marked "DIM" separately in our products—e.g., Sylvania's dimmable RefLED Retro series lamps.
