The Sylvania ToLEDo Superia T8 Electronic is a premium LED tube that replaces traditional 18W T8 fluorescent tubes. With only 7.5W of power and 1100 lumens of natural white 4000K light, it boasts an energy class A++ and the highest luminous efficacy on the market in its category, over 145 lm/W. Specifically designed to work with electronic HF ballasts, it improves the energy efficiency of existing installations and reduces operating costs. Its lifespan is up to 50,000 hours.

Compatibility and installation
Requires an electronic HF ballast — critical condition
This Sylvania ToLEDo Superia T8 Electronic tube works only with electronic high-frequency ballasts (HF / ECG / EVG). This differs from many other T8 LED tubes that work with both electronic and magnetic ballasts (EM&AC models) or directly with 230V mains voltage.
Check your luminaire's ballast before ordering:
- Open the luminaire housing and look for the ballast marking
- An electronic ballast is usually flat, lightweight, and contains the text "EVG", "HF", or "ECG"
- A magnetic ballast is a heavier metal device associated with a separate starter
- If the luminaire has a magnetic ballast, this lamp is not suitable — you will need an EM-compatible T8 LED tube or a ballast replacement

Premium luminous efficacy — energy savings for B2B customers
A luminous efficacy of over 145 lm/W is excellent in the industry. In practice, this means that:

600 mm length — suitable for small luminaires
Standard lengths for T8 fluorescent tubes are 600 mm (18W), 1200 mm (36W), and 1500 mm (58W). This 600 mm tube is especially suitable for small office, workshop, and industrial luminaire models, as well as customer service areas and corridors.
G5 base vs G13 base — check for the correct one
The G13 base for T8 fluorescent tubes is bi-pin and includes a 2-pin connector with pins 13 mm apart. Not to be confused with the G5 base for T5 fluorescent tubes, which is smaller (5 mm pin distance) and only fits T5 luminaires. Check the marking on your old fluorescent tube before ordering.
Installation checklist
- Open the luminaire and check that the ballast is electronic (HF / EVG / ECG)
- Check that the base is G13 (T8), not G5 (T5)
- Check that the lamp length of 600 mm fits the luminaire
- Turn off the power — remove the old fluorescent tube and starter
- Install the new LED tube — the starter can be omitted (LED tube does not need a starter)
- Turn on the power and check operation
