The Ledvance Smart+ WiFi GU10 smart spotlight combines RGBW color lighting and adjustable white light (2700–6500 K) in one bulb. Control the bulb directly with your smartphone, voice via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, or set up automations for your home routines. With a power consumption of only 4.9 W, it replaces a traditional 50W halogen spotlight, and its lifespan is up to 20,000 hours. Compatibility and installation
Operates directly on 230V mains voltage
This Ledvance Smart+ WiFi bulb connects directly to the household 230V mains voltage — no separate transformer or ballast is needed. The GU10 bayonet base fits all standard GU10 luminaires.
WiFi 2.4 GHz — check your router's support
This smart bulb connects directly to your home network via WiFi — no separate hub or central device is required (unlike ZigBee- or Bluetooth-based smart bulbs).
Important note: the bulb supports only 2.4 GHz WiFi networks, not 5 GHz. Most modern routers have both networks — make sure your smartphone connects to the 2.4 GHz network when pairing the bulb for the first time. This is a common installation issue with smart bulbs.
Getting started with the LEDVANCE SMART+ app
- Download the LEDVANCE SMART+ app from Google Play Store or App Store (at least Android 8.0 or iOS 14.0)
- Create a user account or log in
- Install the bulb in the luminaire and switch on the power
- Open the app, select "Add device" and follow the instructions
- Connect your smartphone to the 2.4 GHz WiFi network and grant the app the necessary permissions
Do not use a traditional wall dimmer
This WiFi smart bulb is dimmable only via the app, not with a traditional wall dimmer. If the bulb is installed in a dimmable luminaire, it may flicker, get damaged, or cause unexpected behavior. Replace the dimmer with a regular switch before installation — dimming and color adjustment are done in the app.
Compatibility with smart home systems
The bulb works natively with:
- Google Assistant (e.g., Google Nest Mini speakers)
- Amazon Alexa (e.g., Amazon Echo speakers)
First, connect the bulb to the LEDVANCE SMART+ app, then link it to the Google Home or Alexa app in the app settings. After this, you can control the bulb with voice commands, e.g., "Hey Google, turn off the living room light" or "Alexa, change the living room light to red."
Light switch on — do not turn off
A WiFi smart bulb only works when it is electrically powered. If the traditional light switch is turned off, the bulb cannot receive app commands. We recommend:
- Keep the light switch on continuously
- Control the bulb with the app or voice commands
- Inform family members about the new control method
Installation checklist
- Check that the luminaire has a GU10 base (not GU5.3)
- Check that the luminaire does not have a traditional dimmer — if it does, replace it with a regular switch
- Download the LEDVANCE SMART+ app and create an account
- Connect your smartphone to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network
- Install the bulb, switch on the power, and follow the app's instructions for pairing
