The Osram Haloline Pro is a powerful double-ended 240-volt R7s halogen lamp that provides a generous 8750 lumens of light for floodlights and other high-output applications. This model is 118 mm long (114.2 mm) and will not fit a 78 mm fixture — please check the length before purchasing. Also, ensure your fixture is rated for 400 watts of power.

Compatibility and installation

The lamp operates directly on 240 V mains voltage in R7s holders and does not require a transformer. The halogen is dimmable with a standard dimmer. Please note the length (118 mm, not 78 mm) and ensure that your fixture can handle the 400-watt power and heat.

For lower-power requirements, R7s LED lamps are also available, but they do not match the light output of a 400-watt halogen. Warranty terms can be found here.

Installation checklist:

  1. Measure the R7s length of the fixture — this lamp is 118 mm (does not fit a 78 mm fixture).
  2. Ensure the fixture is rated for 400 watts.
  3. Switch off the power and allow the old lamp to cool down — halogens become very hot during use.
  4. Do not touch the quartz glass with bare fingers and ensure the lamp is securely seated at both ends.

Which bulb does this replace?

This is a 400W R7s halogen lamp (240V, 118mm) that replaces a corresponding older high-output R7s halogen. It provides 8750 lumens of warm 2900K light and is suitable for floodlights and other high-power applications.

Does this fit all R7s lamps?

Suitable if the luminaire's R7s length is 118 mm and the luminaire is rated for 400 watts. R7s lamps are also available in 78 mm length, and they are not interchangeable. Measure your old lamp or check the luminaire markings before purchasing.

Is there an LED alternative for this?

LED linear lamps are available for the same R7s base, but they do not match the light output of a 400-watt halogen (8750 lm). LEDs are suitable for lower-power needs; in such cases, check the length and light output as well. For high-output floodlights, halogen provides significantly more light.

Can you touch the lamp glass when installing it?

No. Do not touch the lamp's quartz glass with bare fingers. Skin oils leave a mark on the glass that heats up during use and can shorten its service life. Handle the lamp with a cloth or gloves.
