LED Socket lamps

The LED plug-in bulb is a direct LED replacement for an old compact fluorescent bulb – installation in the same fixture without an electrician. The right bulb can be found by checking the base and wattage of the current bulb.

What fixtures are these suitable for? Socket-base lamps are common in office and public space fixtures, ceiling lights, and older home fixtures. Typical bases are G23 (2-pin), G24d (2-pin), and G24q (4-pin) – as well as the larger 2G10 and 2G11 tubular models.

How do I choose the right lamp?

Check the base and wattage of the old lamp. The base is marked on the base of the lamp or in the technical data of the lamp. A general rule of thumb: an LED lamp consumes about half the power of an old fluorescent lamp for the same amount of light – for example, a 10W LED replaces an 18–26W fluorescent lamp.

Driver – the most important thing to check before buying. Some LED socket lamps work directly on 230V mains (bypass), some require an electronic driver (HF). Color temperature. Available in 3000K (warm white) and 4000K (neutral white). 4000K is recommended for offices and work spaces, 3000K for home lighting.

Brands: Osram Dulux LED (2G11), Ledvance Dulux S/T/D/F/T/E and Sylvania ToLEDo Lynx series cover all the most common bases.

Also look at traditional plug-in bulbs – if the luminaire absolutely requires a traditional fluorescent bulb.
