Compatibility and installation

Requires an electronic ballast

This LED plug-in lamp only works with electronic ballasts (HF type). Old magnetic ballasts (chokes and starters) are not compatible — with them, the lamp will not light up or may be damaged.

Before replacing, check that the ballast in the luminaire is electronic. You can find compatible ballasts on the Compatibility Tables page or in the Electrical Supplies → Ballasts/Chokes category.

Check the correct base: G24q-1 ≠ G24d-1

G24q-1 is a 4-pin base. It should not be confused with the 2-pin G24d-1 base, which looks visually similar but is incompatible. Check the base of the lamp to ensure you see four pins before ordering.

This lamp is not dimmable

Do not install in a luminaire with a dimmer. The lamp may flicker, remain on at full power, or be damaged.

Installation checklist

  1. Check that the luminaire has an electronic ballast (HF type)
  2. Check that the base is G24q-1 (4-pin), not G24d-1 (2-pin)
  3. Check that the luminaire does not have a dimmer
  4. Check that the lamp dimensions (Ø35 × 135 mm) fit the luminaire
  5. Choose the desired color temperature: 3000K (warm) or 4000K (natural)
Power: 4.5W
Color temperature: 4000K
Opinion: G24q-1

Usein kysytyt kysymykset

Does this lamp directly replace an old 13W G24q-1 bulb?
Yes, if the old bulb was a G24q-1 4-pin type and the luminaire has an electronic ballast. Make sure the base is indeed G24q-1 (4 pins), not G24d-1 (2 pins) — these are different bases from the same family.
Does this lamp work with an old magnetic ballast?
No. This LED lamp requires an electronic ballast (HF type). With magnetic ballasts, the lamp will not light up or may be damaged. Check the luminaire before replacement, and if the ballast is old, replace it with an electronic one before installing the LED lamp.
How much energy will I save by switching?
This lamp consumes 4.5 W while a traditional bayonet bulb consumed 13 W — a saving of about 65%. In addition, the lifespan of an LED lamp is significantly longer than that of a traditional bayonet bulb, which reduces replacement frequency.
What is the difference between 3000K and 4000K color temperatures?
3000K is a warm white light, resembling the hue of a traditional incandescent bulb – suitable for home environments and cozy spaces. 4000K is a natural white, more neutral light suitable for workspaces, offices, and general lighting. Choose according to the intended use of the lamp.
