Compatibility and installation

The dimensions 35 x 97 mm are the standard size for a candle bulb. The 240 V marking refers to the European voltage range, which works normally on Finland's 230 V network.

  1. Check that the fixture has an E14 thread and not a small bayonet (B15d).
  2. Measure the available height of the shade: the bulb is 97 mm long.
  3. Switch off the power and allow the old bulb to cool down.
  4. Screw the new bulb into place gently; do not overtighten.

What is a 25-watt candle bulb enough for?

200 lumens is in the category of ambient lighting. As a single bulb, it illuminates at most a small corner, but in a multi-branched chandelier or candelabra, several bulbs together produce a pleasant overall light. It is also a good choice for a wall lamp, where a bulb that is too bright would be blinding.

Does a 35 x 97 mm bulb fit in the chandelier?

These are the standard dimensions for a candle bulb, so the lamp fits most chandeliers and candelabras. However, please check that a 97 mm long bulb fits under the shade or glass cover and that the bulbs do not touch each other or the body of the chandelier. In tight spaces, it is advisable to measure the old bulb first.

What is the difference between a clear and a frosted candle bulb?

In a clear bulb, the filament is visible through the glass. The light is sharper and sparkles in crystal and glass, which is why a clear bulb is the traditional choice for a chandelier. A matte bulb is frosted, causing the light to diffuse softly without glare. If the bulb is at eye level or used without a shade, a matte one is often more comfortable.

Why do candle bulbs come in different lengths?

Candle bulbs are manufactured in various dimensions because lamp shades and candelabra arms come in different sizes. The most common lengths are approximately 97 and 100 mm, but shorter and longer models also exist. The diameter is usually 35 mm. The surest way to find the right size is to measure the old bulb from the base to the tip of the bulb.
