The Ledvance LED PAR16 Performance GU10 is a high-performance LED spotlight that replaces a traditional 80W GU10 halogen lamp with less than one-tenth of the energy consumption. The 575-lumen light output with a 60° beam angle is suitable for general lighting, corridor spotlighting, and exhibitions. The warm 2700K light creates a cozy atmosphere in homes and restaurants.

Compatibility and installation

Replaces: 80W GU10 halogen lamp. Works directly on 230V mains voltage without a transformer — simply twist the new lamp into the GU10 base and turn to the locked position.

Dimming: this Performance model is not dimmable. If you want a dimmable GU10 LED lamp, choose the Ledvance Superior or Comfort series, which are marked with DIM.

Beam angle selection: A 60° beam angle is suitable for general lighting and wider spotlighting. For narrower focusing (e.g., works of art, exhibition products), choose a 36° model.

Installation checklist:

  1. Check that the old lamp base is GU10 (bayonet-style twist lock, not MR16/GU5.3).
  2. Measure that the external dimensions of the lamp (Ø50 × 54 mm) fit the fixture.
  3. Do not use with a dimmer — the Performance series is not dimmable.
  4. Use in dry indoor spaces or inside a fixture with an appropriate IP rating.

Does this replace an 80W GU10 halogen?

Yes. The 575-lumen luminous flux corresponds to approximately an 80W traditional GU10 halogen, and with a power of 6.1 watts, you save over 92% in energy. The efficiency is 94 lm/W, which is clearly better than halogen technology (typically 10–15 lm/W for halogen).

Does the bulb fit an MR16 base?

No. The bulb has a GU10 base — a bayonet-style twist-lock for 230V mains voltage. MR16 (GU5.3) is a pin base for 12V systems, and it requires a transformer. If you have an MR16 base, please browse our selection of GU5.3 LED bulbs.

Is the lamp dimmable?

No. The Ledvance LED PAR16 Performance series is not dimmable. Do not use with a dimmer, as the lamp will flicker or turn off. For dimmable needs, choose a Ledvance Superior or Comfort series GU10 lamp, which is marked as DIM-compatible.

What is the difference between 60° and 36° beam angles?

A 60° beam angle is wide — suitable for general lighting, hallway illumination, and when you want to light a larger area evenly. A 36° beam angle is narrower and more focused — suitable for artwork, display products, and when you want to highlight a small object. In practice: a 60° beam illuminates an area with a diameter of about 2 m from a height of 2 m, while a 36° beam illuminates an area of about 1.2 m from the same distance.
