Small G4-base LED bulb for 12V systems, suitable for table lamps, cabinet lighting, and furniture fixtures. With 2.5W power, it produces 300 lumens of light — equivalent to an approximately 25W traditional G4 halogen bulb. Works with both AC and DC voltage (12V), which expands usage possibilities from battery systems to traditional halogen transformers.

Compatibility and installation

Replaces: 20–25W G4 halogen. Works in 12V systems — primarily in furniture, table lamps, and cabinet lighting that use a transformer or battery power.

Transformer: if the fixture or system has an electronic halogen transformer, ensure it is suitable for an LED load (load ranges below 35W can be problematic). Alternatively, you can replace the transformer with an LED-compatible model — browse our transformer selection.

Dimming: this model is non-dimmable. If you require a dimmable G4 LED bulb, please contact our customer service — we can provide a compatible option.

Installation checklist:

  1. Ensure the system is 12V (not 230V) — G4 is not suitable for direct mains voltage.
  2. Check that the transformer is LED-compatible or replace the transformer.
  3. Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands — fingerprints can shorten its lifespan.
  4. Use in dry indoor areas — not suitable for damp spaces without a separate protective housing.

Does this replace a 20W G4 halogen?

Yes. A luminous flux of 300 lumens corresponds to a 20–25W traditional G4 halogen, and with a power of 2.5 watts, you save about 88% energy. The efficiency is 120 lm/W — a traditional halogen produces only 10–15 lm/W.

Can the lamp be connected directly to 230V mains voltage?

No. The G4 bulb is only for 12V systems (AC or DC). If you connect it directly to 230V mains voltage, the bulb will burn out immediately. You need either a 12V transformer or a 12V battery system for operation. Browse our transformer selection.

Is the lamp dimmable?

No. This model is not dimmable — do not use with a dimmer. Dimming in 12V systems is often specific to the transformer, so if you would like a dimmable system, please ask our customer service for a compatible transformer+lamp combination.

Why is the lamp flickering with the old halogen transformer?

Old electronic halogen transformers are designed for higher loads (usually over 20W). A low LED load (2.5W) may be below the transformer's minimum load, causing the transformer to not supply current evenly, which leads to flickering. Solutions: add more LED bulbs to the circuit to increase the total power, or replace the transformer with an LED-compatible model.
