Small G4-base LED miniature capsule lamp for furniture, jewelry and display cabinets, and decorative lighting. The frosted bulb softens the light — suitable for applications where you do not want to see a bright, individual LED. Works with both 12V AC and DC voltage, allowing for use with both halogen transformers and battery systems.

Compatibility and installation

Intended use: furniture lighting, jewelry and display cabinets, small decorative lamps, and applications where a discreet, small light source is needed. Replaces an approximately 10W G4 halogen.

Transformer: this is a very low-power lamp (1.1W). Older electronic halogen transformers are designed for higher loads — a single LED may not be enough to trigger the transformer. Recommendation: connect multiple LED lamps to the same circuit or use an LED-compatible transformer. Browse the transformer selection.

Dimming: this model is not dimmable.

Installation checklist:

  1. Ensure the system is 12V (not 230V) — G4 is not suitable for direct mains voltage.
  2. Check that the transformer's minimum load requirement is met — just one 1.1W LED may be too little.
  3. Do not touch the glass part of the lamp with bare hands.
  4. Use in dry indoor spaces — not suitable for damp areas without a protective cover.

Where does this small lamp fit?

The bulb is suitable for cabinet lighting, jewelry and display cases, and small decorative lamps where a discreet light source is needed. The 70 lm luminous flux is not sufficient for general room lighting—this is an accent and spotlight. The frosted bulb softens the light and conceals the LED.

Can the lamp be connected directly to 230V mains voltage?

No. The G4 lamp is only for 12V systems (AC or DC). Connecting it directly to 230V will burn out the lamp immediately. You need a 12V transformer or a 12V battery system. Browse our transformer selection.

Why won't the lamp turn on with the old transformer?

Old electronic halogen transformers require a minimum load of 20–35W to start. A single 1.1W LED is clearly below this. Solutions: connect several LED lamps to the same circuit to increase the total wattage or replace the transformer with an LED-compatible model.

Is the lamp dimmable?

No. This model is not dimmable. In 12V systems, dimming depends on the transformer and the control electronics — choosing just the lamp is not enough. If you want a dimmable system, please ask our customer service for a compatible transformer-and-lamp combination.
