The Philips CorePro LEDspot is a reliable and energy-efficient LED replacement for GU10 halogen lamps. With a power output of 4.6 W, the lamp produces 370 lm of light at a color temperature of 3000K, replacing a traditional 50 W halogen lamp. The PAR16 reflector shape and 36° beam angle make this an excellent spotlight solution. Philips' quality and 80 lm/W luminous efficacy guarantee good energy savings.

GU10 base. 220–240 V mains voltage. Not dimmable. Beam angle 36° — spotlight, not wide general illumination. PAR16 reflector shape.

Compatibility and installation

Direct replacement for GU10 halogen

The Philips CorePro LEDspot is designed to directly replace an old 50 W GU10 halogen lamp. The base is the same GU10, the dimensions (Ø 50 × 54 mm) comply with the halogen standard, and the lamp fits most GU10 luminaires without modifications.

PAR16 and 36° beam angle — for spotlighting

The PAR16 shape (Parabolic Aluminized Reflector, 16/8 inches) is a classic spotlight shape. The 36° beam angle is a traditional GU10 spotlight angle — suitable for illuminating artworks, shelves, product displays, or work surfaces, for example. Do you need wider general illumination? Then choose an LED lamp with a 110° beam angle (e.g., Sylvania RefLED ES50 6.2W).

Color temperature 3000 K — warm white

This variant has a color temperature of 3000 K, which produces a warm white light. Suitable for homes, restaurants, and living areas.

Energy saving compared to halogen

4.6 W power replaces a 50 W halogen — energy savings are over 90%. The lifespan of an LED lamp is many times that of a halogen.

No dimming

This is a non-dimmable model — do not connect to a dimmer. If you need dimming, choose the Philips CorePro LEDspot DIM 4W 4000K model.

Installation

Simple installation — remove the old halogen lamp by turning counter-clockwise, install the new LED in its place. You can do the replacement yourself without an electrician, once the power is turned off.

Power: 4.6W

Usein kysytyt kysymykset

Does this LED directly replace an old 50W GU10 halogen bulb?

Yes. The Philips CorePro LEDspot 4.6W is designed as a direct replacement for a 50W GU10 halogen lamp. The base is the same GU10, the dimensions (Ø 50 × 54 mm) conform to the halogen standard, and the light output matches the former halogen.

You can install the LED directly into the same fixture in place of the old halogen without any modifications. Energy savings are typically over 90% compared to halogen, and the LED lamp's lifespan is many times longer than that of a halogen.

Is the Philips CorePro LEDspot dimmable?

No. This is a non-dimmable CorePro LEDspot model. Do not connect it to a dimmer — when connected to a dimmer, the lamp may flicker or be damaged.

If you need a dimmable CorePro LEDspot model, choose the CorePro LEDspot DIM 4W 4000K, which is the dimmable version.

What is the difference between 36° and 110° beam angles?

The beam angle determines how wide an area the lamp illuminates:

  • 36° (this lamp): narrow spotlight — suitable for lighting artworks, shelves, work surfaces, and individual products
  • 110°: wide general illumination — suitable for corridors, hallways, storage rooms, and general lighting

Generally, halogen-based GU10 lamps have had a 36° beam angle, making this Philips CorePro a natural replacement for an old halogen luminaire. If the old luminaire was for general lighting (wider area), choose a 110° lamp such as the products in the Sylvania RefLED ES50 series.

What does the Philips CorePro series offer compared to the premium Master series?

Philips' LED range has several tiers:

  • CorePro: basic professional quality — reliable and cost-effective, CRI 80–89, suitable for most installations
  • Master: premium range — longer lifespan, better CRI (up to 97), accurate color rendering for retail and display use
  • Hue: smart range — color and light level can be adjusted with an app

CorePro is a good choice for most household and office installations where value for money is important. Master is suitable for demanding retail and accent lighting applications.
