Kitchen lighting – a complete lighting system from the worktop to the ceiling

Good kitchen lighting is built on two layers: general lighting for the entire space and task lighting for countertops and the island. You can find both in Lumenled's extensive kitchen lighting range.

Ceiling spotlights and spotlights are the most popular choice for kitchens – the adjustable light heads allow for precise targeting of worktops, island countertops and other work areas. The Osram Decor Spot series (Cork, Mercury, Octagon) combines design and functionality: 3- or 4-head GU10 ceiling spotlights with 2700 K warm light, dimmable. The Osram LED Spot series offers the same functionality at a more affordable price.

Under-cabinet lights provide even task lighting directly above the cutting board and stove. Osram Linear LED Flat Sensor is activated by a motion sensor and operates on USB power – no electrician required. Osram LED strips (Flex COB Strip Tunable White, 1.5–5 m) are suitable for longer worktops and for installation on the top or bottom of the cabinet.

Pendant lights above the island create atmosphere and also act as an efficient source of task light. The Osram Decor Fuji series triple pendant light (3000 K) is designed for this purpose.

Smart lighting for the kitchen without a hub: Osram SMART+ WiFi ceiling lights and smart strip set (RGB+Tunable White) work directly with your home's WiFi network. Color temperature adjustable from 2700–6500 K from your phone – bright light in the morning to wake up, warm mood light in the evening for cooking.

How do I design kitchen lighting?

Start with general lighting: a uniform base level for the entire kitchen is achieved with ceiling spotlights or downlights (recommended 300–400 lm/m²). Then add task lighting for the worktops: a strip or under-cabinet light 50–80 cm from the surface. For the island, a pendant light 70–80 cm above the worktop provides the right intensity without glare.
