Energiapihit A-energialuokan led-lamput nipistävät vielä 60 % kulutuksestasi!

Energy saving A-energy class LED lamps save another 60% of your consumption!

The new eco-design requirements for lamps and other lighting products focus on energy efficiency, but the legislation also takes into account product durability requirements. Airam can already offer energy class A lamps that meet the new ecodesign directive (Ecodesign).

In the fall of 2021, the ecodesign directive (Ecodesign) entered into force, with which the energy classification of various electrical devices returned to the AG scale. The previous scale had already stretched to the A+++ category. The changed labels have understandably caused confusion and suspicions that the quality of the products has been reduced. However, this is not the case.

The goal of eco-design and new energy labels is:

  • challenges manufacturers to develop devices that are both more energy efficient and meet EU environmental requirements.
  • promote the free movement of energy-related products in the EU area.
  • to provide consumers with a non-commercial and unbiased channel, the EPREL database, to explore more information about the product. Based on this, you can make more informed decisions and choose more effective products for your shopping basket. The database can be accessed with a product-specific QR code, which can be found on the new energy label.

The new eco-design requirements for lamps and other lighting products focus on energy efficiency, but the legislation also takes into account product durability requirements. As a result of these, the products defined as the top according to the previous scale have systematically fallen to a lower level in the current scale. The quality of the products has not been reduced, but their level of requirements has changed due to the new directive and this is reflected in a lower energy class on the new scale. The old and new energy brand are therefore not comparable.

A energy class LEDs will eventually become more affordable than regular LEDs

The energy label of the lamps indicates the energy consumption of the product per thousand (1000) hours and the energy efficiency of the lamp. Airam's new A energy class LEDs are particularly energy efficient. Although their purchase price is higher than a standard LED, the lamp will be more affordable than a "basic LED" during its life cycle. A energy class LEDs energy consumption is up to 60% lower than with a standard LED lamp. In addition, the lifetime of the lamps is up to 50,000 hours, while it is approx. 15,000 hours for standard LEDs. This is how they pay for themselves. The clear wood lamps have both 3000 K (white) and 4000 K (bright white) light color temperature options. Like other LEDs, the lamps are recycled as small electronics (SER). Recycling points can be found e.g. from regular markets.
